In the heart of Latronico’s historic centre, this house reflects a way of living deeply connected to the structure of the village: intimate spaces arranged over several levels, interconnected with one another and opening towards the landscape surrounding the town.
The house is primarily arranged on the ground floor, where there is a living room with a wood-burning fireplace, a kitchen, a bathroom with shower, and two bedrooms. One is a double bedroom, while the second, currently arranged as a single bedroom, can also be used as a twin bedroom.
An internal staircase leads from the ground floor to the basement level, which also has direct access from outside. This floor functions almost as a small independent area within the house, with a second living room, washing machine connections, a service bathroom, and a double bedroom. Its particular layout allows the spaces to be used flexibly, while maintaining a degree of separation between the different areas of the house.
An additional space is provided by the storage room, which is connected to a panoramic terrace. From here, the house opens out towards the surrounding landscape of Latronico, offering one of those small privileged viewpoints that can often be found in homes within historic centres.
With approximately 78 square metres of space, the house remains compact while offering a varied and articulated layout. The heating system is powered by mains natural gas and uses radiators. The building was constructed in 1980 and has undergone several improvements over the years, including the addition of the ground-floor bathroom in 2000.
The existing furniture is included, allowing the house to retain the character and arrangement it has developed over the years, while leaving room for future personal changes to the interiors.
Rather than being a home organised according to a contemporary and uniform concept, this house retains a structure made up of different levels, passages, and spaces. It can also be seen as a starting point: a home to live in as it is, or to gradually transform while preserving its connection to the historic centre and to the landscape that defines Latronico.
